History of the Group

  1. Rodolfo Ferrari and Carlo Callerio found the Italian company SPA (Società Prodotti Antibiotici) to manufacture penicillin and lysozyme.

  2. SPA and Sir Alexander Fleming collaborate to develop large-scale production of penicillin and lysozyme.

  3. SPA establishes the first industrial-scale lysozyme plant at NIVE in Nunspeet, The Netherlands.

  4. SPA establishes Fordras SA in Lugano, Switzerland, for worldwide sales of lysozyme API and for R&D.

  5. Canadian company Neova Technologies starts lysozyme production in Zeewolde, The Netherlands, and begins working with Kaken on the new polyene amcipatricin.

  6. Fordras SA is spun off from SPA; LMC B.V. starts production of lysozyme API and of the amcipatricin molecule.

  7. Fordras SA and Neova Technologies Inc. merge under bioseutica® B.V.

  8. Egg white extraction is consolidated in The Netherlands, pancreatic enzymes in Canada.

  9. New products are developed: NA2R® (2014), Entegard® (2018) and AVIFORT™ (2018).

  10. Acquisition of Belovo, Belgium, from BNL Food Group.

  11. bioseutica® Fordras SA launches its first consumer product, LYSOGUARD immune®.

  12. bioseutica® opens a new lysozyme plant in Ospel, The Netherlands, and celebrates 100 years of lysozyme in Lugano with international guests and customers.

  13. bioseutica® establishes new production plants in Asia.
